“The interest was to emphasis period with functionality in our historic interior and exterior lighting fixtures.

From exterior ceiling and wall mounted lanterns to interior ceiling lanterns, chandeliers and table lamps the customized fixtures and finishing we obtained from MCFelk have been the highlight of our restoration efforts.”

Kakie & Larry Berry, Old Salem, Winston-Salem, NC

Scope: Custom period lighting design

Type construction: Period 19th Century

“Our intent was to include lighting for the theme we desired, and none could equal what we achieved with MCFelk Lighting. It was important to obtain the proper lighting amount for our dining area, in addition to being able to center fixture to our dining table when we entertained. The theme desired was to reflect the Viticulture region, thus finished design included vines and hammered grape clusters with a linear rail canopy system-allowing fixture to center over table when expanded. We always enjoy the complements we receive regarding all the exclusive fixtures for our home.”

“Living in a historic community demanded the attention to detail when it came to our lighting options, and the exclusive options obtained by MCFelk Lighting for our Dining Room, Library, Corridors, and Walls really answered the call.”

Gerald & Glenda Dinkins, Old Salem, Winston-Salem, NC

Scope: Custom period chandeliers, sconces, and lanterns

GC: Kevin Thomas Builders

Type construction: Period 18th Century

“Effects and mood are important to period illumination when it comes to lighting, and warmth was achieved in the Chandeliers that we obtained from MCFelk. Our parlor, and guest rooms required the proper period Chandeliers, and as we investigated other design fixture options none compared to the custom Chandeliers we obtained from MCFelk. We continue to enjoy and receive complements regarding our fixtures by our patrons.”

Rick & Susan Humphreys,

Tailors Bed & Breakfast, Abington, Va.

Scope: Casual period lighting

Type construction: Period 18th Century

“We have a twenty two foot tall cathedral ceiling in our great room, and desired a low energy design lighting solution to complement the environment, though as it was a single Chandelier fixture it had to be accurate in providing the casual lighting required for such a large area. This same style in Chandelier design would be required to slide or adjust and center over dining table when serving from two to ten. As our property is located in the mountains and is populated with beautiful Rhododendron trees, the fixtures drawn and subsequently custom manufactured replicated actual Rhododendron limbs with included engraved bark. MCFelk Lighting wholesale brokered the balance of our non-design lighting fixtures from Murray Feiss, Kitchler, Hinkley, Seagull, Minka Aire, Emerson and RAB.

We continue to enjoy the fixtures designed by MCFelk and receive many complements by our guests.”

Susan & Hervin Guidry, Black Mountain, NC

Scope: Photometric designed complete brokered site specific lighting package

GC: Ray Botham Builders

Type construction: Craftsman Stone & Timber

“Our great room consisted of a single junction box in a cathedral ceiling, and by the use of Geo Thermal heat, it was important to have wide and variably controlled air circulation. The problem was how to evenly illuminate a deep narrow room with a standard light kit typically provided in most fans. MCFelk Lighting determined the proper lighting requirement for cathedral ceiling and designed a dual linear low energy cove lighting system that matched the casual lighting level exactly. A custom low energy bowl pendent was also designed accordingly to the size of our dining table, which included back lighted hammered copper relief.

The balance of our entire home lighting package was a budgeted wholesale package delivered to our site complete with bulbs, and no headaches.”

Pat & Norma Price, Asheville, NC

Scope: Photometric designed complete brokered site specific lighting package

GC: Scott Pruitt Construction

“My dining room table was medium long and narrow, and MCFelk designed a flexible Chandelier type that included multiple arms though could adjust to width of table. From interior to exterior MCFelk worked with my budget to accommodate the period lighting that I desired based on the lighting amounts required. I always obtain complements from visitors regarding the custom lighting produced for my home.”

Rosalie H Horton, Bethania, NC
